Zero tolerance
Circle prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and any content or behaviour that sexualises, grooms, solicits, trafficks or otherwise exploits a minor. It applies to profiles, photos, activities, communities, group chats and direct messages, and to anything arranged through Circle that happens offline.
Members may not:
- share, request, link to or store CSAM, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material;
- contact a minor for sexual purposes, or try to move them to another app or meet them;
- post sexual content involving, or aimed at, anyone under 18;
- use an activity or community to gain access to children.
Circle is for adults only
- Every member must be 18 or over. We ask for date of birth at sign-up and refuse anyone under 18.
- Hosts must verify their identity, with an ID document checked by our safety team or through a record of attending activities run by different hosts.
- If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data, as set out in our privacy policy.
How to report it
In the app: you can report a member, a message, a photo, an activity or a community from where you see it, using the Report option, and choose Someone under 18. Reports go to Circle’s safety team, and the person you report is not told who reported them. You can also block them.
By email: write to mycircleappltd@gmail.com with the subject Child safety. Don’t attach or forward the material itself; tell us where it is in the app and we’ll find it.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 in India, or your local emergency number, first.
What we do
- Child safety reports are marked critical, our highest priority, and are reviewed first.
- We remove the content and suspend the account while we review it.
- We permanently ban accounts that share CSAM or exploit a minor.
- We preserve the evidence securely, for as long as the law requires, so it can be given to the authorities.
- We report CSAM and child exploitation to the authorities: in India, to the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and the police, as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 requires; and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant national authority where the law of another country applies.
- We cooperate with law enforcement requests about child safety.
Following the law
Circle complies with the child safety laws that apply to it, including India’s POCSO Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy. We review these standards when the law or the app changes.
Child safety contact
